5/6- 5/10: Frank Mwangi

5%2F6-+5%2F10%3A+Frank+Mwangi

Frank Mwangi is the athlete of the week during 5 /6 – 5/ 10. Frank is a sophomore on the Varsity team. Frank has been doing track for 3 years. On gameday Frank’s pregame ritual consists of warming up with the team and doing 3 hops before a race. Frank loves to get hype before a game and his go-to song is No Hands by Roscoe Dash and Waka Flocka Flame.

Frank’s favorite memory of doing track was getting his first gold medal last year, and his inspiration to do track is running during warm ups in 8th grade gym class. Frank loves to do track because it makes him feel like he has a purpose and whenever he’s on the track he feels like there’s no judgment, he’s just running.

On the track, Frank runs many events including the 800, mile, 400, 4×4, and the 4×8. In the classroom he’s even better. Frank’s favorite class is algebra 2 because the people in the class were really funny and the workload was not as much. Frank’s plans after highschool consist of hopefully pursuing a running career at Duke University and majoring in international relations, hoping to eventually work at the white house.

A meaningful quote to Frank is, “I never lose, either I win or learn”- Nelson Mandela.

Hi my name is Lindsay Wagoner,  I am currently a senior at Hazelwood West High School. I have played varsity softball at HZW all four years. I am also a part of student council  and national honors society. In my free time I spend time with my friends and I also work a lot. I work at The  Target over on the Rock Road. After high school I am planning on attending MIZZOU to pursue a career in pediatric nursing. I am very excited to be involved in the newspaper this year and I can’t wait to get out and take pictures at all of our school events.
