Kate Mullins is the athlete of the week from the 9th-13th. Kate Mullins is a 12th grader on the varsity softball team. Kate Mullins has been playing softball since pre-K. On game day, Kate’s pregame ritual consists of braiding her hair and her teammates’ hair. Kate loves to get hyped before a game and her go-to song is Baby Keem and Kendrick Lamar’s “Family Ties”.

Kate Mullins’s favorite memory of playing Varsity softball is hitting a walk-off against Mehlville after pitching a great game, and her inspiration to play softball is her father who played baseball. Kate loves to play softball because of her teammates’ encouragement.

Kate is the pitcher on the varsity softball, but in the classroom she’s even better. Kate’s favorite class is French 4 because of the fun environment that comes from the class . Kate’s plans after high school consist of attending an out of state university.

About the Contributor
Kaden Pridemore, Staff Writer
My name is Kaden Pridemore. I was born in Florissant, Mo. and I'm in 12th grade, the very last year of high school. I am a part of the Baseball team and the soccer team here at West. I play 3rd base for the baseball team and for soccer I play stopper for the soccer team. I spend most of my time playing soccer and baseball, not just in school but outside as well. I have a job and if I'm not playing any sports or at work then I am listening to music or hanging out with friends. I'm excited to be a part of the newspaper because it's new this year and gonna be the first year we have the newspaper and I think it's gonna give the students something new and something interesting to look at each day. I think It's going to be a good addition to the school and to the students.
