    Concerts of West

    Concerts+of+West

Concerts are a way of bringing people together in an unfamiliar environment with familiar music. These events are a way to meet new people who share a common interest with you. No matter where you are and who you are there is always at least one concert you can have fun at. Many students at Hazelwood West High have attended life-changing concerts that I will tell you about today.

Raymond Njoroge’s favorite concert he attended was Destroy Lonely and Homixide Gangs concert on February 4th, 2023. Njoroge was in the pit seating for the concert duration. Destroy Lonely’s “BERGDORF ” was Njoroge’s favorite song performed. The craziest thing seen at the concert by Njorge was a guy in a Spider-Man costume running the mosh pits while punching people.

Kayden Alexander-Ramsey’s favorite concert he attended was Tyler, The Creator with Kali Uchis, Vince Staples, and Teezo Touchdown on February 19th, 2022. Alexander-Ramsey was seated in the first section of the stands. Tyler, The Creator and Teezo Touchdown’s  “Run It Up” was Alexander-Ramsey’s favorite song performed. The craziest thing Alexander-Ramsey saw during the concert was a girl throwing her bra at Tyler, The Creator.

Landon Bode’s favorite concert he attended was Travis Scott joined by Don Toliver on January 3rd, 2024. Bode was seated in the nosebleeds during the concert. Bode’s favorite song was Travis Scott’s “THANK GOD”. The craziest thing Bode saw during the concert was the mosh pits.

Natalie Stulce’s favorite concert she attended was Joji accompanied by Kenny Beats and Little Toe on October 20th, 2023. Stulce has front-section seats at this concert. Joji’s “Like You Do” was Stulce’s favorite song performed that night. The craziest thing that Stulce saw during the concert was Joji playing a fake Obama Facetime call on the projector and the fart noises he played throughout the concert.

Russell Navarro’s favorite concert he attended was the Astroworld festival showing artist Travis Scott but was meant to include artists such as Young Thug, SZA and Tame Impala. This concert was on November 5th, 2021. Navararro was in the standing crowd for this event. Travis Scott’s “Mamacita” was Navararro’s favorite song performed that night. The craziest thing seen at the festival was all of the people falling to the ground due to the overpacked crowds that night, this concert was later in the news for the deaths of 10 people killed during the crowd surges.

    About the Contributor
    Boston Hammond, Editor
My name is Boston Hammond, I am a Junior at Hazelwood West High School and have been attending Hazelwood public schools since kindergarten. My favorite hobby is making clothes. I enjoy sewing and plan on making and upcycling thrifted clothes for the rest of the foreseeable future. Every time you see me you can be certain that I am listening to music. My favorite musical artists consist of the Sex Pistols, Che, Lone, and Summrs, in no particular order. As a kid, I was always interested in art-related fields so the Hazelwood West High newspaper is right up my alley. I believe that the newspaper will be an amazing addition to the Hazelwood West culture and will increase the student voice and school spirit.
