9-  Whiplash

Whiplash is about a driven young drummer pushed to his limits by a brutal demanding instructor. It stands in my top 10 for its intense pacing and unforgettable performance by JK Simmons and how the movie demonstrates.  the cost of greatness 

8-Shutter Island 

Shutter Island is at my 8 is a psychological thriller about a US marshall investigating a disappearance in a remote asylum and starts questioning his identity. Its twist and turns and interesting plot along with the eerie setting makes this movie such a crazy watch.

7-Prisoners 

Prisoners is about a desperate father who takes matters in his own hands after the disappearance of his daughter. Its dark tension, plot twist and amazing acting skills made it one of the most addicting thrillers ever.

6- Fight Club 

Fight Club is a gritty psychological where the main character is a delusional insomniac with his subversive new friend who start a underground fight club to escape the real world ( You’ve probably heard the saying, “ Theres only one rule in fight club….”).  It stands at my 6 spot because of the insane portrayal of the main character, the legendary plot twist that changes the whole course of the movie and the crazy unforgettable ending. 

5- Pulp Fiction  

Pulp fiction is a masterpiece of a crime movie that tells multiple stories out of order that end up crashing together by the end making it all fall together. Its a huge classic and popular because it revolutionized movies that are both funny and serious at the same time.

4-Southpaw

Southpaw is a powerful sports drama where a champion boxer named Billy hope loses his wife, daughter, and his home after a tragic  situation. Its a classic story of redemption coming from the top, to the very bottom and slowly rising back up again. It shows him having to change mentally and find a different way to fight to win his family and pride back . Jake Gyllenhaal acting in this movie was absurd, you can practically feel every bit of trauma and anguish.

3-The Pursuit Of Happiness 

The pursuit of happiness is an emotional drama based on the true story of Chris Gardner, a struggling salesman who faces homelessness while raising his son. It makes the top 3 spot because  Its a classic and shows the power of never giving up and to keep dreaming. 

2- Hangover Franchise 

The hangover trilogy is a group of friends (somewhat) who get into trouble at bachelor parties. These movies are famous for the mystery that happens when they blackout but they slowly find out . This bizarreness of these movies its like anything can happen at anytime and will have you laughing like a mad man. I’ve personally watched all of these at least 3 times.

1- Interstellar 

Last but not least its hard to put anything other than Interstellar.  Interstellar is mind-beading space adventure with a father who travels through a wormhole to find a new home for humans since earth is dying. With its beautiful scenes and setting in space and planets mixed with a hopeful story of a father trying to get back to his daughter.
