With the prom season approaching, Hazelwood West’s Wildcats are starting to plan their prom outfits, hair and accessories. But most importantly, Wildcats are deciding who they’ll be accompanying to prom. These are sure fire ways to help secure anyone a date to prom.
1. DO: Text your potential date in “ganglish.” acronyms only. I mean who would want to waste so much time reading a proposal anyways?
2. DON’T: Plan ahead and get your potential date’s favorite things. No one cares if you remember their favorite color, or movie, or even last name.
3. DO: Text the night before prom NOT in advance. This makes sure your partner won’t have enough time to change their mind.
4. DON’T: ask someone you know well, ask a complete stranger. What’s the fun in going to prom with a friend when you could spend the whole night making awkward conversation.
5. DO: Show up to prom in your pajamas. Comfort is key, and nothing is more comfortable to dance in than one-piece footie pajamas.
6. DON’T: Don’t Match with your date. Individuality is more important than looking “uniform” or “good” as people with no fashion taste would say.
7. DO: Forget to pick up your date. You just might be doing them a favor keeping them away from those epic dance moves.
8. DON’T: Take them to eat afterwards. Sleep is important, don’t make your date miss curfew.
9. DO: stand on the wall the whole time. no one likes a show off, you might make your partner jealous with your epic dance moves mentioned earlier.
10. DON’T: Pay attention to anything mentioned above. The writers of this article have never been to nor asked to prom and quite frankly are leading you astray.

My biggest passion in life is politics, I love everything about it and I would like to say I am VERY vocal about it! I love activism, and I believe that in life the best thing a person could do is speak up. Because of this passion, in the future I plan on pursuing political science.
