Everyone knows Hazelwood West’s beloved school mascot, Willy The Wildcat, but how much does the school really know about him?
Willy has been our school’s mascot since our school opened in 1974. Willy makes appearances at many events such as games, pep rallies, and even the homecoming parade! We all see him out supporting our athletes and students, but what does he do when everyone goes home?
After a long game supporting our athletes, Willy heads down to the kitchen and cooks up his favorite meal which consists of hot dogs, nerds gummy clusters, and fruit punch to wash it all down. After his food settles, to keep himself occupied he heads to the pool to go for a little swim. After drying off he takes a stroll up to the E-gaming room to play some Fortnite.
Eventually, it is time for Willy to start winding down. He often swings by the cat corner to get some snacks and then he heads over to hangout with Dr. Adams in his office. Willy learns a lot from Dr. Adams on a daily basis, he is Willie’s biggest role model. He dreams to hopefully become principal one day. After a long day it is time for him to head to bed. He can most commonly be found snoozing in the Health Occupations classroom in the super comfy beds.
Although it may sometimes be stressful with having so many places to be at once, Willy makes sure to make an appearance at almost every school event. Willy couldn’t ask for anything better; he loves being the face of the school. He enjoys all the overall love and attention he receives. He also uses his Wildcat ways to touch base with all sorts of people throughout our community.
