Hazelwood West High School students can be caught stealing glances and reading secret pages of their favorite books under their desks like phones when they are caught up in a truly good read. Some of the top themes of novels from high schoolers are Thriller, Romance, and classic Mysteries, here are five favorites from current West students.
Student 1 – Carson Busse

This is a story about your average nerdy high school boy who finds a car that comes to life (and kills people).
Student 2 – Grace Berendzen
Book: Rival Darling – Alexandra Moody
A romcom-hockey romance book in which a girl falls in love with the hockey team captain for the school’s rival. Her boyfriend is on their school’s hockey team. Do they get together?
Student 3 – Eliana Anderson
Book: The Cinnamon Bun Bookstore – Laurie Gilmore
A young woman runs a bookstore and finds a hidden message in one of the books. Plus, there’s a love interest. Remember, you can’t make cinnamon rolls without spice… lots of spice.

A dystopian group of prodigy rebels wants to establish peace in this crumbled society.
